Staroměstský dixieland,
as already follows from the band's name, it is a jazz orchestra playing especially as a street band in Prague's Old Town. Nevertheless, it is a group which also performs in all types of clubs, at jazz festivals, in restaurants and places of entertainment, on pleasure boats, at private parties and on other occasions where it is able to create a good atmosphere with its musical shows. Its music is based upon tried Dixieland themes including improvised sections and momentary flashes of wit. The characteristic features of the band are ideas about life and emotions, jazz singing, a swinging rythm and an optimistic sound.
